It also is effective in cleaning dirt that is embedded in carpets that are mid-pile. The IQ's small dock footprint and self-emptying feature are great features. If you'd like to change the floor levels or set areas that are not allowed to be used, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation features however, it's not able to access no-go zones, which are available on iRobot models. The smart-pathing system of the app allows for greater maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is efficient however it can be caught in the tassels of the rug.

During our tests, we found that the IQ handled pet hair with ease. It was able to get rid of lots of debris on floors that were unfinished and a decent amount of rug with a medium pile. It was less efficient with shag carpets, as it had a hard time reaching dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers. It was able navigate chair legs, small spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a little slower on bare flooring however, it was able to recover speed and performed better than other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better option for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a larger dustbin, lasts longer on a charge, and does a better job of getting over obstacles. It also comes with mopping attachments that can tackle sticky mess. The iRobot, however, is better constructed, has fewer components that require maintenance or replacement and incurs fewer ongoing costs, and can even create virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It is able to continue cleaning from the point it started, even if its battery runs out before it has finished. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice, which can be an enormous benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S from Eufy isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum on the market, but it does offer excellent cleaning power at the price of. This robot vacuum is made for those who are budget conscious and do not require a complicated mapping system, or even an application to control it. This robot will last for over an hour. It comes with an remote control, a cleaning tool and AC power adapter.

The 11S is slim and sleek, with a tempered glass upper deck that is covered with plastic, which is finished to look like brushed aluminum. It's a nice departure from the industrial and utilitarian designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.

In our tests, the eufy11S was excellent at picking up large particles and fine dust on hard floors. However, it was unable to give high and medium pile carpeting an effective deep clean. It is also prone to hit furniture and people in its path however, it is able to detect obstacles with sensors. It stops and emits a loud noise when it encounters an obstruction. You can then manually guide the device around it and get it to work again.

Another great feature of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match floor type and level of dirt. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S to where you'd like it to go.

If you don't have many furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy is capable of spending up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.

Edge Cleaning is another option that reduces the time spent on each surface to a maximum of 20 minutes. This will extend the battery's life. With this option the eufy moves in a spiral fashion, tackling corners and edges for a thorough clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range robot vacuum and a top performer on carpet. Its performance is also great on floors with no floor. It can remove small particles such as rice with ease and it doesn't suffer from suction power even when its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed and allergy-friendly design snuff out allergens and keep your family healthy. It uses an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying dustbin, which means you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.

It's not as powerful as more expensive models, but is still excellent for deep cleaning and taking on staining. It comes with two cameras in front that deliver live feeds to your smartphone.
